How do I edit or delete my Ad?

Sign in to your "My Account" page. Choose the ad that you would like to edit or delete, follow instructions on the page.

How often can I post the sameAd?

You may post your ad once every 7 days.

I would like to respond to an ad, but there is no contact info?

If there is no email, address or phone number, that means that the advertiser wishes to remain anonymous. GoGenie does not relay any messages or correspondence for our FREE classified ad posters. We will however, try to see that contact information is available in ALL ads.

My Ad was removed/deleted?

If you tried deleting your cache and refreshing your browser and you still don't see your ad, it is more than likely that it was removed by GoGenie. GoGenie members are asked to report any ads that are questionable. If your ad was reported and found to be in violation of GoGenie's terms of use it was probably removed. If the ad(s) reappears and continues to be reported by members then the ad may be automatically banned. You may contact GreplaceoGenie via email to see why it was removed.

How do I get or replace photos on my ad?

When first placing your ad we will guide you through uploading your picture(s). If you wish to change or add a picture, please go to your "My Account" page for details.

How do I delete my browser's cache?

If you've made changes to your ad and they aren't being reflected on the site, or you don't see your new ad listed, you may be experiencing problems with your web browser's cache. It might help to try clearing out your cache;
In Internet Explorer:

1. Click Start, select Settings and Control Panel.
2. Double click Internet Options to open Internet Properties.
3. Click the General Tab.
4. Click Delete Files.
5. Click OK on the Delete Files dialog box.
6. Click OK.

In Firefox or Netscape:

1. Click Tools and select Options.
2. Select Privacy under the Options tree on the left for Netscape, click Cache, click Clear cache, click Clear, click Ok.
3. Click the Privacy Icon on the Option menu bar to open the privacy properties for Firefox, Click clear across from the Cache option, click OK to return to the browser main page, exit and relaunch browser.

In Safari:

1. Open Safari, select Empty Cache, Click Empty on the Are You Sure message box, exit and relauch browser.

In AOL:

1. Click Start, select Setting and Control Panel.
2. Double click Internet Options to open Internet Properties.
3. Click Delete Files, Click OK

How are Ads reported for violating the terms of use?

1. Ads are monitored by GoGenie and its members. If you feel an ad violates the terms of use, you may report it by clicking on the 'report this ad' link at the top of the post. If 3 or more members report the ad it will be removed from the site. If the ad blatantly abuses the terms of use it will be removed by GoGenie staff.

What kinds of Ads violate the terms of use?

1. For a detailed list please refer to the 'Terms of Use' page. The most common violations of the terms of use are; 1. Posting the same ad in more than one category. 2. Posting advertising or solicitation of questionable material. Any use of profanity, or vulgar language. Any inapropriate pictures.

How can I protect my email from spammers?

1. Use a blind (anonymous) email address option when you post your ad. It gives you the the best possible anonymity and helps to prevent email harvesters, spammers and scammers from accessing your email address.

How can I get my Ad into one of the yellow boxes?

Ads that are at the top of the listing page and in yellow boxes are Pay-Per-Click ads. You will have the option to add pay per click to your ad during the place your ad process.

What is PPC (pay per click)?

Pay-Per-Click is a tool to get your ad better placement on the classified ad page. We offer PPC starting at .05¢ per click. You pay .05¢ each time a customer clicks onto your ad which will then take the customer to your web page. It is a bidding system so the advertiser that is paying the highest amount for his/her PPC will be at the very top of the page.

How can I change my Ad to one of the Ads in the boxes on the right?

The ads that are placed on the right or left of the page are Display Ads. A button at the top of the page can take you to the 'Display Ad' page where you will be able to design a display ad. You will have more options when placing a display ad including the opportunity to have your ad designed specifically for you by our graphic design dept.
